Vision Engineering launches Special Autumn Promotions as part of global ergonomic awareness campaign

The objective of the promotional campaign is to highlight the benefits to users’ health and productivity from using ergonomically designed systems and the Dynascope technology.

Vision Engineering, a global supplier of ergonomic stereo microscopes, digital and non-contact measuring systems has launched its “Special Autumn Promotions” campaign to promote ergonomic awareness and support operator wellbeing.

The objective of the promotional campaign is to highlight the benefits to users’ health and productivity from using ergonomically designed systems and the Dynascope technology. The campaign will run between 23rd October and 8th December 2017.

During this campaign, customers can take advantage of three special offers:Lynx EVO – award-winning high productivity stereo microscopes, with standard magnification up to x60 will attract a 10% discount.

  1. The Lynx EVO features a patented ergonomic optical viewer that replaces conventional eyepiece technology. This innovation increases operators’ comfort and productivity by avoiding eye strain, neck ache and back pain associated with prolonged use of traditional binocular eyepiece microscopes. In addition, customers purchasing the full Lynx EVO system can also claim a free x1.5 optical multiplier that boosts magnification by up to x180.

  1. Swift video measurement systems will attract a 10% discount. Suitable for shop-floor, manufacturing and quality control inspection, the Swift has been equipped with a high resolution HD camera, which improves edge detection capabilities, and a large measuring stage. The Swift systems are simple to operate and provide quick and accurate yet simple on screen inspection of complex precision components.
  2. A 25% discount is being offered on Vision Engineering’s ergonomically-designed optical viewing heads, used in Kestrel Elite or Swift DUO optical measurement systems, which incorporate Dynascope technology. These optical viewing heads offer enhanced edge detection for transparent, white on white and black on black components, which are difficult to view and inspect. The viewing heads can be easily incorporated in to existing Swift video inspection and measurement systems or as standalone part for OEM applications.

Innovative Eyepiece-less Technology

Vision Engineering displays new non-contact visual measuring systems at EMO trade show in Hannover

The new Swift PRO range of non-contact visual measuring systems combining the latest optical and video measurement technologies.

13th September 2017 – Vision Engineering Ltd., an award-winning manufacturer of ergonomic microscopes and global supplier of precision measurement systems, will be exhibiting a range of new visual inspection and non-contact measuring systems at this year’s EMO Show in Hannover in Germany. Vision Engineering will be displaying its new Swift PRO range of non-contact visual measuring systems. Combining the latest optical and video measurement technologies, the Swift PRO is a powerful, yet simply operated tool that is designed for ensuring precision and quality control in metalworking and plastic manufacturing processes across a range of industries, from electronics and aerospace to medical parts manufacturing, where quality control and reporting are critical.

Previously difficult to view samples can be measured more accurately with Swift PRO’s new HD video camera with Video Edge Detection (VED) and fully dimmable stage illumination. The Swift PRO feature-rich software is easy to operate and its one click measurement setup allows for instant profile and surface measurement.

Swift PRO provides fast and accurate 3-axis measurement. Obituary: Rob Freeman, MBE, founder of Vision Engineering Ltd

Rob Freeman, MBE, company founder and innovator of ergonomic microscopes and measurement systems, sadly passed away on 19th August, aged 84.

Send, Woking,  21st August 2017: Vision Engineering Ltd, a manufacturer of ground-breaking ergonomic microscopes and measurement systems, has announced that its founder and chairman, Rob Freeman, MBE, passed away on 19th August, aged 84.

Rob Freeman, born in 1933 in Singapore, grew up in Woking, Surrey and was a toolmaker who worked as a race mechanic with the Jaguar Racing team in the 1950s. He developed a borescope that enabled internal race engine components to be inspected, without taking the engine apart. This innovation led to the foundation of Vision Engineering in 1958.

The company is now an award-winning manufacturer holding several patents for its ergonomic microscopes and measurement systems, which are used extensively by manufacturers in the electronics, automotive and aerospace industries. The company has grown to be a global leader in its field and employs more than 220 staff worldwide, with offices across Europe, North America, Mexico, China, India and Japan.

In 1996, Rob was awarded the MBE, in recognition of his services to the British optical industry.

On 13th June 2017, Rob Freeman presided over the opening of the Freeman Building, Vision Engineering’s purpose-built global headquarters, manufacturing and R&D facility, in Send, Woking, UK. The new building, close to the site of the original 1950s factory, is named after Rob Freeman and was officially opened by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Surrey and the Mayor of Guildford.

Mark Curtis, managing director, on behalf of the staff of Vision Engineering, commented:

We are extremely saddened by the death of our company founder, Rob Freeman. He was a true pioneer of engineering who learnt his trade during the glory days of British car racing and aerospace and whose dynamism, grit and ingenuity created a thriving business, which continues to grow and innovate today.

Rob enjoyed a challenge and was an early leader in the development of overseas technical markets, to the point where 92% of the company’s turnover comes from export. It was a great privilege and pleasure to work with him and we are glad that he was able to see the completion of the building dedicated to his legacy. We extend our deepest sympathies to Rob’s family, colleagues and many friends, who remember him with great fondness.”

Vision Engineering holds several patents on its high-tech optical and digital systems, which it supplies to organisations all over the world in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical and telecoms manufacturing sectors, which require high specification, ergonomic inspection and measurement systems.

The company achieved the Queen’s Award for Technology in 1974 and the Queen’s Award for Export in 1991.
