Mantis has been developed to provide operators with an ergonomic, accurate and flexible solution to inspection. Mantis can be used for a variety of applications that include:
Electronics
 Electronics inspection is quick and easy with Mantis. With the flexibility of the Universal arm the operator can inspect a PCB and then swing the arm to one side to take notes. The small footprint of the bench stand adds extra stability to the inspection of small and intricate PCBs.
Large working distances provide the operator with optimum capacity to perform procedures such as rework.
Precision Engineering
 High precision machined components can be inspected for quality of the surface finish, making sure holes have been tapped correctly and edging does not require any rework. Deburring or other rework activities can all be carried out using Mantis.
Plastics
 Mantis is ideal for the inspection of plastic components. Bright white LED illumination provides excellent colour rendition for colour matching. Defects that can be found particularly in injection moulding including sink marks, streaks, stress cracks, flaking and deformation can be quickly and easily inspected using the new range of Mantis.
Dental Laboratory
 Dental technology is an application area that increasingly favours the Mantis for inspecting the accuracy of what the natural eye perceives. There are many areas within dental technology that require magnification, these include the inspection of dies, patterns, castings for fit and passivity of spans and porcelain for cracks, chips and surface finish. Finished crowns can also be checked under the Mantis where colour rendition is at an optimum with true light LED illumination.
Medical Devices
 Devices such as catheters, hearing aids, replacement joints and hypodermic needles are safety critical and require 100% inspection. The advanced ergonomics of Mantis provide an easy to view, high resolution image making light of sustained inspection routines.
Biomedical
 There is a diverse range of applications that use Mantis for inspection and include a range of biomedical applications. With cold, bright white LED illumination, Mantis delivers an even ring of light over the subject. The cold source illumination also avoids deteriorating heat sensitive subjects. Additionally, with up to x20 linear magnification, specimens can be clearly observed with continued stability and accuracy. |
