The New Vision Mantis® Viewing System

Bridging the critical gap between the microscope and bench magnifier.

Building on the success of the original Mantis low magnification viewing system, Vision Engineering have launched a new generation of Mantis. Unlike the original Mantis, the new generation provides a range to choose from, giving users greater flexibility and greater choice, including lower cost or higher specification units.

The New Mantis Family

Mantis bridges the gap between a bench magnifier and a microscope; more comfortable than a microscope; more powerful than a bench magnifier.

  • Entry level, low investment versions
  • Compact, functional units
  • Wide range of magnification options (to x20)
  • Shadow-free LED cold illumination, both surface and substage
  • Long working distances, large depths of field
  • Stable structures for high magnification viewing

Patented Optical Technology

Stereo ergonomic viewing is the key to the Mantis advantage. Patented ‘eyepieceless' technology allows the operator's eyes to be around 30mm away from the viewing lens, unlike using a conventional microscope where the operator is required to precisely align their eyes with the eyepieces. Two separate light paths form within the viewing lens to deliver the user a pin-sharp stereo image, allowing a greater freedom of head movement. This helps minimise fatigue and eyestrain that long term users of microscopes are at risk of, promoting better ergonomics, increasing productivity.

New LED lighting provides shadow-free, true colour, bright white illumination for up to 10,000 hours, alleviating the operator of frequent replacement. The new generation of Mantis also incorporates increased objective magnifications of up to x20, providing greater clarity and accuracy to enlarged objects.
