Mantis 'Spatial Imaging' Technology Explained
Vision Engineering’s Mantis family of stereo viewers employ patented eyepieceless technology to provide users with many unique benefits, all designed to increase accuracy, increase productivity and reduce costs.
Superior Ergonomics
Mantis employs patented ‘eyepieceless’ technology to provide users with a true optical view of subject, with unrivalled comfort.
Increased comfort means a reduction in fatigue, allowing users to work more efficiently, for longer.
Mantis is a true optical stereo viewer. Two separate light paths pass through the patented Mantis optics, exiting the single viewing lens as twin (stereo) light paths. The large diameter of these exit rays means that users do not need to precisely align their eyes with the viewing lens in order to see the subject.
Unlike conventional ‘eyepiece’ microscopes, the result is a freedom of head movement more commonly associated with bench magnifiers.
Patented Optics
The patented optics of the Mantis family of stereo viewers provides users with unique advantages over the conventional ‘eyepiece’ microscope.
- Ergonomic viewing position, for sustained comfort
- Freedom of head movement
- Reduction in eye strain
- Ability to wear glasses
- Superb hand-eye co-ordination
Additionally, manipulation and rework tasks are made easier with the superb hand-eye co-ordination of Mantis.
With Mantis, the apparent focal length of the image viewed through Mantis is exactly the same as the true focal length from the eyes to the subject. This not only allows for easy sample manipulation, but also avoids the need for the eyes to refocus when switching views between Mantis and the subject.
