Vision Engineering Company Profile
Founded in 1958, the privately owned Vision Engineering Ltd.
has become one of the world's most innovative and dynamic microscope
manufacturers, specialising in
Eyepieceless and Expanded Pupil stereo microscopes and non-contact measurement
systems for both industrial and life science markets.
Patented Technology
Vision holds world patents for techniques which maximise the
ergonomic performance of a range of mono and stereo optical microscopes. The
company manufactures stand-alone mono and stereo microscopes and also
accessories to improve the performance of other brand systems - these
techniques are used in the company's renowned Dynascope™ eyepieceless
inspection and non-contact measurement systems, Mantis® stereo
viewing system, Alpha® expanded pupil microscopes, Lynx®
eyepieceless stereo microscopes and ISIS® expanded pupil
eyepiece accessory.
Improving Operator Efficiency
All the systems, whether used for inspection, measurement, in the laboratory, or as production tools, employ a number of different patented principles, which expand the exit pupil of the subject and offer the operator freedom of head and body position. In addition, Vision systems offer a significant reduction in eye fatigue by reducing the strain of eye focusing and pupil movement.
These advantages over conventional microscope, video, or projection systems help improve operator efficiency, saving time and costs.
Vision Engineering Worldwide
Vision Engineering has revolutionised the optical inspection and measurement sector by adopting emerging new technologies in optical production, precision injection moulding and vacuum forming, to give the highest optical performance at the minimum cost. The new generation of Mantis is manufactured in Mew Milford, Connecticut, USA, with further manufacturing carried out at our World Headquarters in Send, near Woking in Surrey, UK. Further assembly and commercial activities are carried out at a second site in Woking, UK.
Our North American division also operates direct sales and distribution networks from regional offices on the East and West coasts. The company has wholly owned subsidiaries in Japan, Germany, France, Italy and the Benelux countries, plus a network of over 200 stock-holding and fully-trained distributors serving and supporting all other developed countries.
