A vacancy has arisen for a full-time, permanent, Accounts Assistant to work at our manufacturing base in Send, Woking. The position would suit an individual who is part qualified, is interested in or in the processes of studying towards a financial qualification (e.g. AAT). The accounts Assistant supports both the Sales Ledger and the Purchase Ledger functions.
Responsibilities
Sales Ledger:
- Set up new and maintain existing customer accounts;
- Post sales ledger invoices and credit notes using the company ERP system;
- Raise ad-hoc invoices as required;
- Release orders and chase payments for efficient credit control;
- Assist with monthly petty cash reconciliations;
- Confirm Intercompany balances and provide monthly contra allocations with other Branch and subsidiary offices;
- Perform sales ledger month end reconciliation and revaluation and assist with the month end close;
- Post sales ledger receipts from the bank;
- Assist with credit note analysis;
- Release orders once payment is received;
- Update the Distributor commission and post the journal.
Purchase Ledger:
- Manage the company mailbox and assist with supplier correspondence, invoices and queries;
- Match and post purchase ledger invoices;
- Set up and maintain new supplier accounts and credit applications;
- Reconcile supplier statements and invoices;
- Manage the company credit card information supplied to cardholders and post credit card expenses;
- Manage and resolve overseas office supplier PO queries in a timely manner.
Other:
- Assist with the year end audit;
- Other ad hoc financial duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Essential Skills and Experience
- Part qualified or Interest in studying towards a financial qualification (e.g. AAT);
- Good computer literacy, specifically MS office and excel. Experience of working in an ERP system beneficial;
- Excellent organizational/multi-task management;
- High attention to detail;
- Strong administrative skills;
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communications skills and able to liaise with all levels of staff;
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders – i.e. Suppliers and clients on a professional and courteous basis
- Friendly, pro-active, positive self-starter with a can-do attitude who works well in a fast paced, environment;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willing to work extra to meet deadlines as and when the business needs require it;
- Team player who adapts easily to change;
- Based in our modern Global HQ in Send, Surrey, candidates must live within a manageable daily commute.

- This is a permanent, full time position, 36 hour week – Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 5:15pm, 9am to 5pm on Friday with 1 hour for lunch and flexibility on the start and finish times, in line with the Company’s core working hours;
