International Key Accounts Manager (Microscopy)

The International Key Accounts Manager will be responsible for the development of key accounts as customers for Vision Engineering’s highly competitive range of eyepiece and eyepieceless optical and digital microscopes.

  • Electronics
  • Life Sciences
  • R&D

This exciting position works closely with multiple departments, including Design and has the backing of a full and multilingual Marketing, Marcomms and Logistics team.

Although this is a new position, the International Key Accounts Manager role leverages the success of a similar established role that has consistently driven high-volume microscopes sales in the Americas.

Success in very competitive microscope markets has been achieved by being price competitive, having short deliveries and a proven reputation for quality. Our customers value our technical flexibility and responsiveness.

Many of our microscope sales require elements of customization; (lighting, cameras, work stands, software). We have a reputation for responsiveness and creative solutions

Location and area

The successful candidate can be located anywhere in mainland Europe or the UK, with accessibility to an international airport. Regular attendance at the UK Global HQ will be required (ca 2 days per month).

The sales territory is global, covering all countries except the Americas.

The position reports directly to the Group Sales and Marketing Director, based in Send, Surrey, UK.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing productive business relationships with key existing and potential clients
  • Developing and implementing strategic account penetration plans
  • Achieving approved supplier status with suitable multinationals
  • Registering as an approved supplier on appropriate country and industry portals. Responding to tenders generated
  • Responding to customer enquiries in a fast, flexible and technically imaginative way
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, design, procurement and customer support, to ensure seamless delivery of products/services and exceptional customer experience;
  • Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts to maximise revenue
  • Presenting reports on account performance, sales forecasts and market insights to internal stakeholders
  • Managing contract negotiations, renewals and pricing discussions
  • Collaborating with product development teams to provide feedback and insights from clients, contributing to the development of new products/services

As this position is a sales management role, time flexibility is expected.

Depending on the country in which you are located, you will be directly employed by the nearest VE subsidiary (UK, Germany, France, Italy and others) and will have a competitive package of benefits (Car/Car allowance, life insurance, pension contributions etc, as appropriate to that country).
